Fun Friday!

I am not one to get up at the crack of dawn and go shopping on Black Friday, but we did go to Target later that day to see if we saw any great deals. We weren't that impressed. Maybe it was because we got there late and all the good deals were gone or maybe it was because we had no money to spend anyways so it would have basically had to be free for us to be impressed. Either way Tyler still had fun scoping out all the sales.
That night we wanted to do something fun for the holiday weekend so we decided to decorate our apartment for Christmas. We started out the night by ordering pizza for dinner. Tyler loves pizza! Then we hung some lights and Christmas decorations and we ended the night with what Tyler calls "MoooVeee Night" Movie Night consists of laying every blanket we own on the living room floor(literally about 25 blankets)and we all watch movies and sleep out there. It is Tylers favorite thing and everyday he asks me if we can have a movie night. We all had a good time, especially Tyler.

Pizza Party!

Rick hanging Christmas lights around our living room.

This is a picture of Tyler pretending to take a picture of a snowman decoration that we have. This little snowman became Tylers best friend. He just kept giving him hugs all night and sitting in front of him and telling him to smile while he took his picture.

Tyler was really excited about all the Christmas decorations. He just kept running around and talking non stop. Whatever he saw us doing he wanted to help. He imitates Everything. Here he is using his hammer to help hang up the stockings.

This is a picture of the famous "movie night". Even though Tyler doesn't look that excited in this picture, on the inside he is thrilled. He is just so into the movie nothing can distract him. Rick and I can't hardly keep our eyes open after the first 20 minutes of the movie but Tyler stays glued to the TV not wanting to miss any part of the movie. We are usually awakened by either Tyler jumping on us to tell us something exciting about the movie, or he wakes us up by turning on all the lights and playing noisily with his toys. Finally at about 1 am I couldn't take it anymore so I left and went and slept in our bed and at about 2 am I heard Rick reach his boiling point and sternly giving Tyler the ultimatum of either he laid down and went to sleep or else he was going to have to go sleep in his own bed. Well Tyler didn't want to have to leave the slumber party so he laid right down and 2 minutes later he was asleep. It was quite the night!

Of course I couldn't leave Logan out of this post. He missed movie night because he slept in his crib, but here he is enjoying it the next morning.

My First Thanksgiving

This year was the first year that we spent Thanksgiving with just our little family. We didn't go anywhere because we will be going home to Idaho as soon as Ricks semester is over in a couple of weeks. So it was a quiet Thanksgiving but still fun. It was my first time cooking a turkey so I was kind of excited about that. Everything turned out pretty good except for the gravy. I have never been very good at making gravy. Oh well. Anyways we had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, yams, rolls, cranberry sauce, and a salad, and we have tons of leftovers. And by the way I also realized that Thanksgiving is a lot of work and not as fun when you are in charge of the whole meal. I guess now when I go somewhere for Thanksgiving I'll appreciate the dinner a lot more.
Here is a picture of the table right before we were ready to eat.

Go Cardinals!

This past weekend my dad, my sister Jill, her husband Alex, and their daughter Abby came to visit us in Phoenix. We were so excited because we love it when people come to visit us. The main reason for them coming was so that we could all go to the Cardinals Monday Night Football Game. It was everyones first time at a regular season NFL game. They played the 49ers and it was broadcast on ESPN. It was such an exciting game and it all came down to the last play. The Cardinals won with a last second win. Yea! Rick and I bought Cardinals shirts to wear and it was so fun to cheer for the home team. I guess since I live in Arizona and I have been to a Cardinals game now I can say that I am a Cardinals fan. Rick wants everyone to know that he is still a die hard New York Giants fan. He was going to wear a giants shirt under his cardinals shirt to show where his true loyalty was but decided against it. The game was tons of fun and we made some fun memories so thanks dad for such a great weekend!

Here is Rick and I sporting our Cardinals shirts in front of the stadium before the game.
Our seats were down in the lower bowl in the corner of one of the endzones. Here we are watching the players warming up before the game.

This was the flag they brought out for the national anthem. It was huge and covered the whole field. It was really neat. Jordin Sparks was there to sing the national anthem.

Of course we had to go eat dinner before the game. We ate at Johnny Rockets next to the stadium. It was a fun atmosphere because everyone in there was wearing Cardinals gear and talking about the upcoming game. The anticipation was exciting.

While they were visiting this weekend we went and walked around the Mesa temple. Tyler absolutely loves his cousin Abby. He was so excited that she was coming to stay with us. Here they are posing in front of the temple. So cute!

Of course you have to get a picture in front of a cactus if you come to Arizona. I thought this was a cute one of Tyler at the temple grounds.

Tyler and Abby put a lot of miles on these little cars riding around my living room all weekend. We all had so much fun. Thanks again for coming and visiting us.

Wildlife Zoo

On Saturday we went with some friends of ours to one of the zoos here. At one exhibit you are able to climb some stairs and feed the giraffes. They would stick out their long tongues and you would drop the food in. Tyler thought it was fun to tease the giraffes by holding the food above their mouths but then never dropping the food. He thought he was hilarious.

Here is a picture of Tyler and our friends daughter Avery riding on the stroller. They love to play with each other. Tyler appears to be quite the gentleman.

Halloween Night

I thought this was a really cute picture of Rick and Logan. These were the Halloween pajamas that his Aunt Lisa got him. Logan is such a happy baby. He almost always has a smile for you. It is really cute!
Our ward had a trunk or treat the night before Halloween. We had a big dinner and then the kids went around to all the cars. Tyler dressed up as a dragon (really it was a dinosaur costume but he thinks it was a dragon) and Logan went as a frog. Tyler has a hard time saying "trick or treat" so he just said "happy halloween" instead. He got tons of candy. He seemed so excited he wasn't sure how to act.

Tyler was a little unsure of the whole trick or treating thing at first. The first door we took him to the lady smiled and said hi to him and Tyler just screamed bloody murder and took off running down the driveway with his tail wagging behind him. It was hilarious. He seemed terrified. Once he realized that people were giving him candy he started to warm up more. By the end of the night after every house he would say "more candy" and run to the next house. He had a lot of fun.

Arizona State Fair and The Zoo

Here is Tyler and Rick at the petting zoo at the fair. Tyler loved all the animals.

Phoenix has one of the best zoos in the nation. It's ranked in the top five by most animals. (hehehe) Tyler liked to try to give the goats a hug.
