One Long Month

Well, it has been so long since I have blogged I don't even know where to start. The past month has been a bit overwhelming with a lot going on. Obviously the first thing to happen was Carson being born. Adjusting to a new baby is definetly overwhelming in and of itself. A week after he was born, my mom passed away after a long hard battle with cancer. We went up to Idaho to be with family and for the funeral. It was like being with two extremes. Being with my baby who was just starting his life and then being with my mom who had just ended hers.

Here is a picture of my amazing mother. I always thought she was very pretty. She was a great example to me of strength and courage and patience. She never complained and I never saw her get angry. I honestly could not have asked for a better mom and I was always so proud that she was my mom. She is very loved and I miss her everyday. I find comfort in the fact that I know that she is in a happier place now and that I will see her again someday.

One thing about a funeral is that you get to see a lot of family and friends that you haven't seen for a while. Here we are with a lot of the cousins from my moms side of the family.

Below are just some random pics from our house from the past month that I am finally getting around to posting.

This pic is a little blurry but this is how the boys looked when they came to visit me in the hospital. All the nurses and doctors smiled when they saw these two walking through the hospital. They kept looking at Logan and saying that he was too little to be a big brother.

Here is a pic of Carson working on his tan. :) He had jaundice so he had to go under the bili blanket for a couple of days.

Here is Carson at one week. His binki covers half of his face. We are just thrilled that he takes a binki since our other two never did.

Daddy and Carson. I thought that was so funny how Carson fell asleep all sprauled out on his daddys tummy.

Our TLC. (Tyler, Logan, and Carson). I am really starting to feel out numbered by all these boys around here. I still can't believe that they are all mine. I don't feel old enough to have three kids and a mini van.

I can't hardly put Carson down because every time I do the other two boys are all over him. They are always wanting to hold him and give him kisses. Carson is still warming up to his loud, crazy brothers.

We also had some visitors come down to Phoenix

Rick got a new calling at church and had to be ordained to a high priest. His dad and brother Rob came out from back East to do the ordination. It was a quick trip, they were only here for the weekend but we were glad they could come. This is a pic of Rick with his dad.

So because we have had a new baby, a death in the family, and visitors come to our house, our lives have been pretty busy. Hopefully things will calm down a little bit now and we can try and get back to normal, whatever that is.

Logan finally got his beloved Buzz. He was so excited and has taken it everywhere with him, including the dinner table, the car, and to bed every night. (He tried to take him in the bath tub but I wouldn't let him)

Random Happenings

I've really been slacking lately in the blogging department. June came and went pretty fast. We spent our time trying to survive the heat. Some highlights of our month were another trip to Idaho and going to the Yankee/ Diamondback game. We had a great time doing both of these but unfortunately we did not get pictures of either of these things.:( Other than that we have just been swimming almost everyday, going to movies, museums, the zoo, and just hanging out. Here are a few pictures that I did happen to take.

I love this picture of the boys at the pool

Logan loves to swim but he doesn't like us to hold him. So we got him some floaties so he could learn to do it on his own.

My boys LOVE Toy Story so we were so excited when Toy Story 3 came out. We took a little family trip to the movie theatre. Here is a picture of my boys, Rick, and our friend Melissa waiting for the show to start. And just in case you were wondering, Rick balled through the whole ending of that show. I couldn't help but laugh.

We spent one morning at the Tempe Beach Park splash pad. The boys had a great time.

After splashing in the water we had to take a break and get some sno cones. FYI: Sno cone shacks are very rare in Phoenix

We braved the heat and took a trip to the zoo one day.

The kids were exhausted after all the excitement of the zoo and from being out in the heat. This is what they looked like before we even got out of the parking lot.

My boys love going to the Childrens Museum. Tyler especially likes the pretend grocery store.

And they love the pretend pizza kitchens.

Here is Logan washing Tylers dishes for him. Gotta love being the little brother.

Logan fell asleep on the couch one day while I was making his lunch. This never happens so I had to take a picture of it.

A random close up of Logan that I thought was funny

Doesn't he have the cutest face you have ever seen.

Here is a picture of Tyler all ready to go to his first sleep over. He seemed so big and mature that I almost cried when he left.

Anyway life is good here. We are just counting down and getting everything all ready for our new little guy to arrive. 25 more days to go. Hopefully less. It would be so nice to come a little bit early. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Happy Birthday Tyler!!

Yesterday was Tylers birthday and I can't believe I have a four year old!! He is getting so old! Tyler loves birthdays! He has been asking about his own birthday on a weekly basis for pretty much the past year ever since he turned three. Since he had waited so long and birthdays only come once a year we wanted to make his birthday really special for him. So this was the first year that Tyler got to have a friend party. And then Tyler insisted that he have his party at Chuck E. Cheese so that is what we did. His actual b-day fell on Memorial day so we had his party a few days early.

An action shot of some of the group at the party

Tyler opening his presents. It's funny how all the kids always crowd around because they are so excited to see what he got.

Tyler is completely obsessed with Iron Man so we got him an Iron Man cake, which he loved. Here he is getting ready to blow out the candles

Logi enjoyed all the excitement and especially loved the cake.

Tyler and all his friends at his party. Three are missing who either didn't want to be in the picture or who had to leave early. They are all friends from the ward.

This one is for you D'Nell. Tyler and his good buddy David playing a game.

Tyler coming down the slide. He was loving being at Chuck E. Cheese with all his friends.

Logan and Chuck E. going for a ride in his car.

Tyler had some very generous friends and came home with so many nice toys. He was very excited. Of course when you ask him what his favorite part about his birthday was he says "opening his presents."

His actual birthday

I try and decorate the apartment with crepe paper and balloons whenever it is someones birthday. I hung these streamers from the boys door because I knew the boys would think it would be fun to run through them in the morning when they woke up. They loved it more than I even thought they would!! They kept running through it all day saying it was a car wash. :)

Tyler opening his present from us. We got him a space shuttle/space station toy that he has had his eye on for months.

He loved it and was very excited.

Tyler wasn't very happy about Logan playing with his new toy so Logan settled for the box.

Tyler and Logan both love airplanes. So one thing we like to do for their b-days is pick up some doughnuts and chocolate milk and drive to the airport and park on the top level of the parking garage and watch all the airplanes takeoff and land while we eat our breakfast. The boys always love this and have so much fun seeing all the airplanes.

They decided they could get a better view sitting on top of the car.

I made Tyler another cake for his real b-day. So that night he got to blow out his candles again. His birthday seemed a little exhausting to me, probably because it was drawn out over a few days between his party and his actual birthday. But it was a success and Tyler loved every bit of it and that is what matters. We're glad he had a good birthday. Happy Birthday Tyler!!!
